  1. Why ICSA?
    ICSA offers unique combination of high quality education and very affordable prices. Our faculties are experienced physicians/professors devoted to prepare students for their exams as good as possible.

  2. What about the country?

  3. When do I enroll and when do I take STEP 1?
    We recommend you to enroll as soon as you finish your Basic Science courses. Our experience shows that the best time to take STEP 1 is no later than 3 months after review course.

  4. Can you apply for us for the USMLE STEP 1?
    No, we cannot, but we can guide you through the process.

  5. Where will I be staying?
    Our housing coordinator will help you to choose option based on your budget. It can be inexpensive hostel-like housing or apartment with a sea view. We can send you pictures of the place to help you to decide. All apartments are furnished. To arrange housing we work with the property owners and deposit is required. There is no check in/out time, the rules are very flexible.

  6. Where is the ICSA office?
    ICSA office is in down town and we will accommodate your housing within walking distance. For a group of students for extra fee we can arrange shuttle to/from your apartment.

  7. What are the dining options?
    Based on your taste and budget we can recommend particular dining place or food even can be delivered to your apartment or ICSA campus at the specific time. Vegetarian menus are available also. When you are busy studying simple phone call and the nearest supermarket will deliver your groceries.

  8. Can I share my apartment with someone else?
    Of course you can if another person agrees on this.

  9. What books should I bring?
    We would suggest flash cards for Anatomy at your choice. Do not bring any other books. At present ICSA has a library and we are constantly increasing number of books.

  10. When do I arrive?
    We would recommend you to arrive few days before the beginning of the course to get familiar with the place.

  11. What airport do I flight into?
    There are more then 50 daily flights from the continental USA and Puerto Rico to Santo Domingo (SDQ).

  12. Do I need visa to enter Dominican Republic?
    If you are American or Canadian citizen or have Green Card you do not need visa. Citizens of more than 150 countries do not require visa for Dominican Republic. If you have doubts please check with Dominican Republic consulate in your country. If you do need visa we will help you to arrange it.

  13. How is the health care system?
    You do not need any vaccination before you travel to Dominican Republic. In unlikely event of an accident, local hospitals will provide adequate treatment and accept all major insurance providers. Please ask your insurance company if it covers abroad travel. There are a lot of English speaking doctors and we will help you in any way possible. If you have special condition please bring your medications with you for the duration of stay. Local pharmacies sell medications without prescription except psychotropic.
